Harmaline

The harmaline as well as the Harmine is a vegetable Alcaloïde group of the Harmane S. It comes in particular from the plants of the kind Banisteriopsis and has serotoninergic properties of antagonists. Combined with the Diméthyltryptamine of other plants, it confers on the Ayahuasca its property Hallucinogène.
The harmaline is also the main thing Alcaloïde Peganum harmala a plant of the family of the Zygophyllaceae. It is starting from this species that it was insulated in 1841.
Pharmacology
The harmaline is a IMAO (Inhibiteur of the monoamine oxydases) slightly Psychodysleptique and Analgésique.
