Harlon Block

Harlon Henry Block , born the November 6th 1924 and deceased on March 1st 1945, one of the six Marines American was immortalisé by Joe Rosenthal on photography Raising the Flag one Iwo Jima , at the time of the Bataille of Iwo Jima during the Second world war.

Biography

Harlon Block was born in Yorktown, in the Texas, and is oldest of four wire of Edward (" Ed") Beautiful Frederick Block and Ada (" Belle") Block, an adventist family. In the hope to make fortune, the Block family settles in Weslaco, a small town in the middle of the valley of Río Grande.
