Electra Glide is a motor bike mark Harley-Davidson, category Touring (road).
In 1965, Electra Glide perpetuates series FL, appears in the range and replaces the Duet Glide. It is the first Harley-Davidson to receive a Electric starter. It uses the engine Twin Cam and its evolutions.
During its career, it evolves/moves slowly. If esthetics remains overall the same one, the improvements relate to the mechanical components, with the filtration of the vibrations, the increase in cubic capacity of the engine…
Electra Glide before was very conceived to roll on long distances in a great comfort. Its equipment is in the standards of the category. One finds a careenage protective, a marrowy saddle, audio equipment, satchels of great capacity… Many owners also equip it with a motorcycle combination.
It is available in three completions:
- Electra Standard Glide
- Electra Classic Glide (was withdrawn from the French catalog in 2006, but remains available in other countries)
- Electra Glide Ultra Classic
Certain companies of police force were or are still equipped with Electra Glide.
It is also the heroin of an American film of 1973: Electra Glide in blue.
