Harald de Man
The king Harald of the island of Man was the son of his predecessor, the king Olaf II.
It arrived at the capacity after the death of his father, in 1237. The empire of which he inherited was of a remarkable extent, because he included/understood many islands. Once crowned king, Harald decided to make a round in its kingdom and named his/her cousin Laglan regent in his absence. According to annals mannoises, in the absence of Harald, Laglan caused a " large trouble" , even if one does not know of what this disorder consisted. With the return of Harald, Laglan flees of Man with the son junior by Harald.
Harald followed thereafter a peaceful policy on all the extent of its kingdom. The king Henri III of England did it knight.
Harald died in October or November 1248 at the time of a shipwreck off the islands the Shetland, with the return of a voyage in Norway, where he had married a girl of the king Håkon IV of Norway. Ragnald II of Man succeeded to him.
