Haplogroupe E (Y-ADN)

In Genetic human, the Haplogroupe E (M96) is a haplogroupes Y chromosome.

This haplogroupe is found in Africa, in the Middle East and in Europe. In Africa, it is the most common haplogroupe and would have appeared it there y' is 50.000 years old. In Europe, and in the Middle East, it appears at weaker frequencies.

Origin

The haplogroupe E was probably present in the area of the the Sahara, at one period when this one was not a desert (i.e. it y' is approximately 45.000 years old). When the Sahara started with désertifier, the inhabitants of the area left there to move into more favorable zones. It is at that time that this haplogroupe was divided into several groups.

Sub-groups

E1

E1 (M33) present at the Mali.

E2

E2 (M75) present at the same time in the east and the west of Africa.

E3

E3 , by far most frequent. It is divided into 2 sub-groups:
  • E3a (populations of the costal area of West Africa)
  • E3b (remains of sub-Saharan Africa)

In Europe

The European populations which have the haplogroupe E are for the majority originating in the Mediterranean circumference. They would have received the genetic influence of the East Africa. This haplogroupe would have been brought by populations interragissant directly with the East Africa; these population are those from Asia Mineure which brought agriculture in Europe during the Neolithic .

Under group E3b1 is present in Albania, Greece and Italy of the South. The percentage of the haplogroupe E is negligible in the rest of Europe.
