Hanthawaddy-thaing

Hanthawaddy-bando-system : (Birm.) In French language, martial system of Hanthawaddy or Bando of Hanthawaddy . Martial system of Burma worked out the shortly after the second world war, by nine experts of Thaing anxious to safeguard Burmese arts of combat. This compilation of Burmese martial arts directed by Ba Than (Gyi) of the Years 1940 with the Years 1960, took the name of Hanthawaddy-bando-system (Hantavadi bando system) in reference to the Hanthawaddy-thaing of the XIXe century. It is the version of most popular Thaing in occident and that which ensign his/her son, Maung Gyi, expatriate in the USA since 1958.

March 9th, 1946, nine surviving members of the second world war having belonged to Military Athletic Club of Maymyo, found the National Bando Association (NBA.), under the presidency of Ba Than (Gyi).
