Hans Talhoffer

Hans Talhoffer (1420 - 1490) is most known of all the main Escrime the USSR German of the south at the 15th century.

It is contemporary to the fencing master Paulus Kal (of which the manuscripts suggest a competition professional between them). Talhoffer taught according to the tradition of Johannes Liechtenauer.

The name of Talhoffer appears in the files of Zurich, which indicate how he taught occasionally close to Rathaus (municipal council) in 1454 (a combat burst among its pupils, outcome with several fines).

He is the author of several Fechtbücher, the illustrated treaties describing the methods of combat using a large variety of weapons, and including the combat with naked hands (Lutte), the Dague, the long sword, the stick and the assembled combat.
