Hans Richter is a painter and American scenario writer, of German origin, born with Berlin (Germany) in 1888, deceased with Locarno (Suisse) in 1976.
Biography
It made its studies with the Academy of the Art schools of Berlin in 1908, then the Academy of Weimar in 1909.During its first exposure to Munich, in 1916, it united with the group hobby-horse of Zurich. Parallel to its lyric compositions, very coloured, it started to paint, on roller, of the abstract rates/rhythms which become animated ( Preludium , 1919), Fugue 20 1920). Thanks to its research, it carried out an abstract film Rythmus 21 , followed several other films. It went to the the United States in 1941 where it was devoted to teaching and the cinema. Its film Dreams to sell ( Dreams That Money Edge Buy ), carried out 1944 with 1947 is one of traditional surrealist Cinéma. Then it turned 8x8 in 1956 - 1957, Film-joining builds on poems dadaîstes years 1916 - 1917. Continuing its pictorial work, it composed of the lyric fabrics, very coloured. It evolved then to a more geometrical abstraction, dominated by a stripped, but rytmé graphics ( Piccolo Castello , 1961). Precursor as of 1917 of the lyric tendency of the abstraction, is one of the most important figures of the cinema of avant-garde.
