Hans Medick
Hans Medick (born in 1939 with Wuppertal) is a German Historien, member of the Institut max Planck for the History of the Université of Göttingen.
With his colleagues of the History of the daily newspaper like Alf Ludtke, he works on the history of industrialization and advances the concept of proto-industrialization which proposes the multiform and nonlinear character of this one, on the basis of a starting point microphone-history.
Moreover, he works on the epistemology of the Histoire and, following the example Clifford Geertz, advances the idea that its discipline must take into account the beneficial contributions of anthropology for research and the historical demonstration. Thus, for Medick, the cultural factors are the true driving forces of the history.
