Hans Frank

Hans Michael Frank (Karlsruhe May 23rd 1900 - Nuremberg October 16th 1946). Reichsleiter of the Nazi party and Minister for the Third Reich, General governor in Poland.

Biography

Born in 1900, it is still student with Munich when it adheres to a grouping Extrême right-hand side anti-semite (the Société Thulé) and militates in a paramilitary group, antirépublicain ( Freikorps Epp ).

In 1923, he becomes member of the Nazi party, NSDAP, and takes part, in the rows of SA, with the attempt at putsch of Hitler to Munich. Doctor in right and lawyer, it lends his contest to many “comrades” of the Nazi party during the Weimar Republic and achieves, inter alia, of research to recall the Family tree “Aryan” of Hitler.

In 1933, he becomes minister of justice in Bavaria and, in 1934, Minister for Reich without wallet - but of notable political influence until in 1939 will remain deprived. On the other hand, its career of lawyer finds his apotheosis in his presidency of the Academy of German right of 1934 to 1941, during which he wants to redesign the German right through the prism of the National-socialisme.

In October 1939, he becomes the general governor of the occupied Polish Provinces, station in which it depends directly on Hitler. This oriental party of the Poland, intended to become after the war a ground of Germanic colonization, is transformed into a vast tank of labor for industry of war of Reich. It is here that four of the six death camps of the system concentrationnaire Nazi are set up: Majdanek, Treblinka, Chelmno and Belzec. Auschwitz-Birkenau and Sobibor is built, them, a little more in the west, in Poland annexed by Third Reich.

Hans Frank continues three major goals: the Extermination of the Jews, the elimination of the Polish elites and the economic plundering of the country to the profit of German industry. As of 1940, it is responsible for the assassination of several thousands of Polish. In addition, it introduces antijuives measurements, succeeding, in a first stage, with the creation of ghettos, in particular of that of Warsaw.

Anti-semite and in favor of the Final solution, Hans Frank is however insulated as from 1942, following a competition supported with Himmler. It falls in disgrace near Hitler which dislocates it of all its functions within the party - but maintains it with the head of the general government in spite of the will expressed of Frank to resign.

In May 1945, Hans Frank is stopped by the Alliés and tries vainly Suicide R. At the time of the Procès of Nuremberg, Frank, returned meanwhile to the Catholicisme of its youth, is acknowledged guilty. He is condemned to the Capital punishment for war crimes and crimes against humanity and is hung in October 1946.

Its newspaper of service in 42 volumes, whose original is with Warsaw, constitutes an important historical source. In its novel, the benevolent ones, Johnatan Little lengthily reconsiders the pesonnality of Franck describes like a cold monster, playing the night ones of Chopin top of the castle of Cracow.

Family

Hans Michael Frank was born the May 23rd 1900 from Karl Frank (1869 - 1945), lawyer and of Magdalena Buchmaier. It had a big brother Karl Frank junior (groom has Amanda Berta Böhmer) who died in 1916 of the war and a little sister Elisabeth Lilly Frank (married later with D Walter Scheltze). It Marie the April 2nd 1925 with Maria Brigitte Herbst (December 29th 1895 - March 9th 1959) after being itself met fine 1924 with Munich. They have them 5 children: Sigrid (March 13rd 1927), Norman (June 3rd 1928), Brigitte (January 13rd 1935), Michael (February 15th 1937) and Niklas (March 9th 1939), all born in Munich. Niklas Frank always firmly condemned the intrigues of his/her father .
