Hans-Joachim Stuck
Hans-Joachim Stuck is a German racing driver born on January 1st 1951 with Munich (Germany). He is the son of Hans Stuck, one of the most famous German pilots of pre-war period.
Biography
Shining pilot in the private car but also Formulates 2 of them, H.J Stuck reaches the Formule 1 in 1974 within the stable March. But during a career which will last until 1979 Stuck will never be emphasized truly, the fault partly with a physique (it measures 1,94 meter) little adapted to the competition in the single-seater. It is in 1977 that, called by Brabham to replace the unhappy Carlos Pace, Stuck manages to be highlighted more. But its spectacular service under the rain of Watkins Glen at the end of the season is completed by an exit ramp whereas it is at the head. Replaced the following year by Niki Lauda, Stuck finds refuge at Shadow in lose speed. It will find never again a car able to play the first parts.At the conclusion of its career 1 in 1979 Formulates some, Stuck finds the tests of Tourism and Endurance and becomes one of the best pilots of the speciality. It gains the thus twice 24 hours of Mans (in 1986 and 1987) as well as the championship DTM in 1990.
More or less withdrawn of the automobile sport since the end of the year 1990, Stuck takes again sometimes the wheel, as at the time of the 24 hours of Nurburgring, or more recently of the inaugural sleeve of the Grand Prix Masters.
