Hans-Jörg Schellenberger

Hans-Jörg Schellenberger is a German Hautboïste born with Munich in 1948.

Biography

Hans-Jörg Schellenberger grew with Saal year der Donau close to Ratisbon where it passed its Baccalauréat in 1967.

Already at the six years age, he played of the Recorder; at thirteen years it took courses of Hautbois.

In 1965, it gained the contest of the Jugend musiziert (Youth musician)

From 1967, he studied the Hautbois and the direction with the Musikhochschule of Munich as well as mathematics and data processing at the technical university of Munich.

Schellenberger is the founder of the current Musik unserer Zeit (music of our time) which allowed a familiarisation with the music comtemporaine.

Just after obtaining its examination in 1970, Schellenberger became in 1971, oboe solo replacing with the symphony orchestra of the radio of Cologne and as from 1975, it occupies this station like holder.

In 1977, he plays regularly with the Philharmonic orchestra of Berlin under the direction of Herbert von Karajan.

He is named oboe solo in this prestigious orchestra in September 1980.

During long years, he also played a big role with the direction of the philharmonic one.

Schellenberger taught at the University of Arts of 1981 to 1991.

Moreover, it became increasingly active as a Chambriste and Soliste.

He was member of Bläser der Berliner Philharmoniker, the Wien-Berlin Unit and was also the founder and the chief of the Haydn unit of Berlin.

He occurs in duet with the Pianiste Rudolf Koenen, the Flûtiste Wolfgang Schulz and the Harpiste Margit-Anna Süß.

Appreciated soloist, it played with many orchestras under the direction of chiefs of reputation of which Claudio Abbado, Carlo Maria Giulini, Riccardo Muti,…

In 1989 it gives of Master-class to the Accademia Chigiana of His after having exempted into 1986 of Master-Class at the Fiesole music school.

Since 2001 he is professor with the Royal Ecole of Music in Spain (" Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía")

Schellenberger recorded with Denon, DGG, Orfeo, Sony Classical u.a.

In the middle of the years 90 , it founded its own label Campanella-Musica .

One of first CD of its recording company (Sonatas of Bach ) gained the price of the German disc.

Since its departure of philharmonic of Berlin in 2001, Schellenberger is devoted to the direction and is seen already rewarded by a success on the international plan.

It directed inter alia the Orchestra Santa Cecilia to the theater of Scala of Milan, the Orchestra of Rome, the Symphony orchestra of Jerusalem and much of others still.

Schellenberger lived with his wife and her five children in Bavaria.

1972: Second Price of the international contest of television channel ARD of Munich.

1972: Price of encouragement of the Land of Bavaria.

1994: Grammy-Award for its best performance of chamber music during its first recording.
