Hanlin academy

The academy Hanlin (翰林院, Pinyin: Hànlín Yuàn , literally " brush forest institut") was founded in China with the VIIIe century during the Dynastie Tang.

It was an institution which was to carry out literary tasks and of secretariat for the court. There only the well-read men more the scholars could claim to be named. One of the principal tasks was the interpretation of the traditional Confucéens. That formed the base of the examinations which gave access the more high levels of the administration.

The academy was closed definitively at the time of the Chinese Révolution of 1911.
