Hangzhou

Hangzhou (杭州; Pinyin: Hángzhōu) is the capital of the Chinese province of the Zhejiang. The city, located at 200 kilometers of Shanghai, has the administrative statute of under-provincial city. In 2001, its population was estimated at: 1932600 inhabitants. One speaks a dialect there about the wu called 杭州话 (Hángzhōuhuà).

Hangzhou is famous for its lake (西湖; Pinyin Xīhú : lake of the West ) which, with its parks, in fact a vacation resort appreciated.

According to the Chinese population, the girls of Suzhou and Hangzhou are famous being prettiest of the country.

There is the Paradis with the sky. And on ground, there is Suzhou and Hangzhou. (Chinese: 上有天堂, 下有苏杭; Hanyu pinyin : shàng yǒu tiāntáng, xià yǒu sū háng ). | Chaoying, poet of the Dynasty Yuan (1279 - 1368).

History

Hangzhou was, of 1127 with 1279, capital of the Dynastie Song (period of the Song of the South ), whose first capital was Kaifeng of 960 with 1127 (period of the Song of North ) that Song had to give up following the conquests of the Second dynasty Jin (1115 - 1234).

Transport

The bridge of the gulf of Hangzhou is the longest bridge of the world. It spans the sea and connects Ningbo to the south with Jiaxing in north. Its apron has a 36 km length and will comprise, in each direction, 6 lanes. Speed will be of 100 km/h, and its utilization period will be of more than one century. The total of the investments will rise to approximately 10,7 billion yuans.

The overall length of the viaducts of access on two banks will be of 84,4 km. Work will cost 5,21 billion yuans. The construction of the northern viaduct a 29,1 km length will cost 1,78 billion yuans, and that of the southern viaduct a 5,53 km length will require an investment of 3,43 billion yuans. The total of the investments for the principal bridge and the viaducts of access will rise to 16 billion yuans.

Two passages of navigation were arranged respectively on the northern side (with a capacity of tonnage of: 35000 tons) and of the southern part (with a capacity of tonnage of: 3000 tons) of the bridge. The bridge for the northern passage is a stayed girder bridge, of a range of 448 meters, with two pylons, of the ropes with double strand and the beams of reinforced concrete boxes. That of the southern passage is also a bridge stayed girder, but only one pylon, with ropes with simple strand and beams of reinforced concrete boxes. The duration of construction was planned for 5 years. With the pointing of a steel tube a 73 m length and a diameter of 1,5 m in the sea-bed on November 15th, the construction of the bridge spanning the gulf of Hangzhou was really started.

This bridge, whose completion is envisaged in 2008 and who will connect Shanghai on a side and Ningbo of the other, is composed of a northern bridge of supply, a bridge with multiple arches northern, of a bridge of supply central, etc With an entire investment of 11,8 billion yuan, this bridge long 36 kilometers is longest of the world on sea at present.

Curiosity

During 2007, the group Guangsha, first private Promoter of China, built in the suburbs of Hangzhou the residence of Tiandu Cheng, literally, “city of the sky”, which is a copy of the principal architectural elements of Paris with a district haussmannien set up in the middle of nowhere, at the entry of which rises a reproduction of the Eiffel Tower 108 height m.
