He was exerted in various kinds, and translated several French poems into vogue of his time, those of Delille, Rosset, Rene Richard Louis Castel, Madam of Boccage.
One collected part of his works in Lisbon, in 6 volumes, in-12, 1798 - 1805.
In 1982, it was represented on the Banknotes Portuguese of 100 escudos (approximately 50 hundreds of euro) image of the ticket
