Manual II , (complete name Manual Maria Filipe Carlos Amélio Luís Miguel Rafael Gabriel Gonzaga Francisco de Assis Eugénio of Saxony-Coburgo-Gotha E Bragança ) - (Lisbon, March 19th 1889 - Twickenham (England), July 2nd 1932) last king of the Portugal of 1908 with 1910.
Wire of Charles Ier of Portugal and Amélie of Orleans.
In 1913, it married Augusta-Victoria de Hohenzollern (1890-1966).
They did not have children.
It succeeded his father Charles Ier of Portugal assassinated by the republicans after an attack which also wounded it. But the young king was in a fragile position, and the October 4th 1910 the revolution burst, obliging it to flee towards Gibraltar.
He lived in exile with the the United Kingdom and devoted himself to erudite research on the Portuguese bibliography.
