The HBCL was born on May 21st, 1986 from the will of a group of parents, eager to facilitate the continuation of studies and the practice of the handball their children. From where a close relation with the school (Association Handball Studies…)

A true training center local, called “Complementary Physical-activity” and “Specialized Sports activity” was first of all created with college ATGET then with the College MAX LINDER. These 2 structures will give rise to the sporting sections of establishment of the College MAX LINDER (boys 1996 and girls 2001).

Thus for 18 years, the most motivated young people have been able to profit from 2 to 4 specific training sessions per week, whose permanent concern was the respect of their balance. Each year 10 to 12 teams dispute the departmental, regional and national championships.

The first five years of existence of the club, were devoted to the training of young people with successes and key periods.

From 1991 the HBCL, more ambitious than ever, gives itself two challenges:

- continuation of the training of young people - a progression towards the handball of high-level

With these young people become ripe: creation of seniors teams whose main objectives are: - departmental excellence in the short run, - the regional level in the medium term, - the national level in the long term.

Championship of France Qualification of the Juniors Boys to the first championship of France in 1991/92 Participation of the Juniors in 1996/97, the Juniors in 1997/98, - 18 years Boys in 2002/03 and of - the 18ans Girls in 2003/04. Championship of Aquitaine Qualification of various teams (Tiny, Juniors, and Juniors Boys, Juniors and Juniors Girls) from 1988 to 1992, in 1995 and 1996 and of 2000 to 2003.

ONES The HBCL feeds to 90% to see at 100%, the most powerful teams of College ATGET or the College MAX LINDER as Tiny Boys. Here best results obtained: - The Gironde: 13 championships of the Gironde - Academy: 11 championships of Academy - France: · Tiny: 2èmes in Lorient (1986), 3èmes in Paris (1987). · Juniors: 3èmes in Lorient (1987), 4èmes in Lille (1988), 3èmes in Lille (1989), 5èmes in Fréjus (1992), 5èmes in Chartres (1996).

From 1996 the structure becoming Section Sport Studies does not take part any more in the ONES.

To date the HBCL does not count less than 232 bachelors, which represents 3 teams Seniors (female and two male), a team of leisure, like 10 teams of young people and a school of handball. Moreover, since 1986 the club can be prided to represent France and the town of Libourne in many international tournaments (Randers in Denmark, Santander in Spain, Budapest in Hungary…). Today, the club starts to receive the fruits of the work provided since long years with the accession of the club to the more high level amateur. It is for this reason that I make a point of thanking for the little pointed people of the finger but who are there since many years, to see since the beginning: Elino De Nardi, Jean-Pierre Brachet, Joelle Adolphe, Francine Lefèvre and Thierry Ségonzac to quote only them.

In 2006 the HBCL will celebrate its 20 years, prepare right now for the event!
