Hand Street the USA

Main Street the USA is the main door of the parks, based on Disneyland. It is a street of an American small town at the beginning of the 20th century, inspired by the town of Marceline where Walt Disney lived. It is bordered of shops and restaurants but with few attractions.

The park Tokyo Disneyland is a little with share concerning this main door . The bad weather as well as impossibility of building a real train around the park brought to the construction of World Bazaar .

The concept and attractions

The concept of this street goes back to the genesis of the Disneyland park. The Main Street is the main street of an American northern village. Magic Kingdom

It reproduces a street in the Années 1880. A remarkable element is the construction of a complete stage of slides " sous" the street. The street being really built on the first floor, the basement being a ground floor. For the remainder the street has more decorative elements than the original version and adopts a style inspired of the New England.

Tokyo Disneyland

Here the name is World Bazaar , the street is covered with an immense canopy inspired of the greenhouses victoriennes and there is no Town Square . Moreover the visitor is not obliged to reach Central Plaza to fork and can join since the median street, Adventureland on the left and Tomorrowland on the line.

The single principle of time is not respected for example with the presence of a of dining on the years 1950 or of a Japanese restaurant, Restaurant Hokusai .

World Bazaar includes/understands only one attraction Omnibus a confined version with Central Plaza.


Disneyland Paris

Convinced that the original concept of Street Hand would not be really included/understood by Europeans because of their difference in culture, the team of the Imaginieurs Disney thought at the beginning of radically changing the concept of the main street of the park by designing a Hollywood boulevard typical middle of the century, with her large cinemas, her publicities disproportionate, and her plugging lights.
But, they understood that beyond a street in charge of history, Main Street also represented the American dynamism of the years 1920: appearance of electricity, first vehicles with vapor, an omnipresent love of life…
In order to satisfy the European public, considered difficult, the decoration of the street and its " histoire" were improved compared to the American parks. It seems that the decoration is much neater with a multitude of detail of which the gas burners, names with the windows. One can note the presence of Casey' S Corner, a coffee, temple of the baseball.

Like his/her Japanese cousin, because of the bad weather Main Street has a technical characteristic: two named shady walks arcades skirt each side the blocks of houses

In Disneyland Paris, Main Street includes/understands following attractions:

  • Disneyland Paris Railroad
  • Hand Street Vehicles
  • Horse-Drawn Steetcars : tram drawn by horses.
  • Liberty Arcade and Tableau : genesis and representation of the Statue of Freedom (left covered arcade).
  • Discovery Arcade : meticulous models of remarkable inventions of the beginning of the 20th century (right covered arcade).

HongKong Disneyland

It is a copy quasi-in conformity of that of Disneyland.
Main Street includes/understands only one attraction: Hand Street Vehicles.
