Hamra ( חמרה ) is a Moshav founded in May 1971 in the South of the river Tirtza, not far from the road connecting Ma' aleh Adumim to Maalé-Arazim.

It is first of all called " Atarot" , name mentioned in the Bible as the border of the Tribe of Joseph (Book of Josué 16/3), then in 1971 renamed " Hamra" (" ground rouge" in French), like the nature of the grounds on which the moshav is installed.

Hamra extends on a surface from grounds from 3500 Dounam im. It shelters an elementary school open to the children of the area. The moshav Hamra shelters about fifty families today.
