Haltérophilie handisport
The haltérophilie handisport , called sometimes powerlifting or dynamophilie (Canada), is a Sport derived from the Haltérophilie. It is the equivalent handisport the “develop-lying one”.
Rules
The haltérophilie complies with the established rules by the paralympic International committee, which takes account of the handicap of the sportsmen.
The athletes are lengthened on a bench. For medical reasons or of safety, the athletes can fold the legs or be attached. The assistants of the athlete place the bar at height of its tended arms. In two minutes, the athlete must descend the bar on the level from the chest, maintain it motionless, then to upwards push it until complete extension of the arms. The athlete is entitled to three tests.
The athlete raises the unit consisted by a bar with blockers which weighs 25 kg and discs of variable weight. The discs are added by increasing the weight of a multiple of 2,5 kg.
Classification of the handicaps
In haltérophilie handisport, the athletes are gathered of categories of weight and not according to their handicap. The sportsmen who practice the haltérophilie handisport for example are paralyzed, amputees of one or two lower extremities, are reached cerebral driving infirmity, after-effects of polio or have a shortened lower extremity but must be able to tighten their arms. The visually handicapped persons and the deaf persons as well as the people of small sizes have access there also.
For the men, the categories of weight are: less than 48 kg, less than 52 kg, less than 56 kg, less than 60 kg, less than 67,5 kg, less than 82,5 kg, less than 90 kg, less than 100 kg and more than 100 kg.
For the women, the categories of weight are: less than 40 kg, less than 44 kg, less than 48 kg, less than 52 kg, less than 56 kg, less than 60 kg, less than 67,5 kg, less than 75 kg, less than 82,5 kg and more than 82,5 kg.
Competition
The haltérophilie became an official sport with the paralympic Jeux of Tokyo in 1964. The women are accepted since the paralympic Jeux of Sydney in 2000.
In France, at the National level, there are each season a cut of France, a championship of France of Winter and championships of open France.
