Hall Singer
Harold Joseph Singer is a Saxophoniste tenor born the November 8th 1919 with Tulsa, Oklahoma, the United States.
At 8 years, it begins the Violon, then étidie the Clarinette and the Saxophone with the college. He plays then in different Big bands.
From the years 1930, it starts to play in local groups of which that of Ernie Fields, before joining the orchestra of Jay McShann with Kansas City in 1943.
It spends the years of war to New York while working to the 52nd Street with musicians such as Roy Eldridge and Sid Catlett.
In 1947, he plays in the orchestra of Oran " Hot Lips" page and with King Records.
In the year 1950, it records with Mercury, artists of Rate/rhythm and blues like The Orioles and Charles Brown.
In 1958 it records with Prestige Records as a soloist of Jazz, and plays Metropolis club in New York with Roy Eldridge and Coleman Hawkins.
In 1965, after a round in Europe with Earl " Fatha" Hines, Singer settles in France. It continues to record and to play in Europe and Africa with the orchestras of Charlie Watts and the Duke Ellington Orchestra. One could see it as an actor in 1990 in the film Taxi Blues.
In 1992, it obtains the title of Chevalier of Arts and the Letters.
