Half-sword
Half-sword (of the German Halbschwert ) a German term which indicates a style of attack with a sword, in medieval Escrime.
This technique is mainly used with the swordfish: Catch with the left hand on the medium of the blade, and the right hand holding the handle of the sword. This technique makes it possible to give blows of tucks (with the point of the sword) more precise than by holding the more traditional sword of way. That makes it possible to aim at the weak points of certain armours, like the drill plate of punts and the harnois.
