Half-Life 2: Survivor
Half - Life 2: Survivor is a play on Borne of arcade created by Taito Corporation and Valve Software. It left in June 2006 to the Japan.
The play proposes modes with one or more players.
Technique
System
The terminal is based on the system Type X from Taito Corporation. Its architecture is similar to that of a PC compatible.
Orders
The terminal presents an armchair vis-a-vis a screen. From there, the player has access to several orders:
- Pedals: a pedal to jump and another to bend down.
- left Joystick: in the shape of metal disc, provided with a button (posting of the menu to communicate as a multijouor). This order relates to the movement of the character (to advance, move back, displacement side).
- Joystick right: this lever relates to the aiming and the shooting. A trigger is used to draw, a secondary button uses the secondary shooting of the weapon and a serrated roller makes it possible to change weapon. To turn the lever completely on the right or on the left makes it possible to turn in this direction.
Opposite the player, under the screen, are:
- the card reader of safeguard.
- a button Start .
- an indicator indicating if the terminal is on line or not.
- the opening to introduce the parts.
It is possible to regulate the position of the armchair compared to the screen and to the pedals.
Safeguard
The player with the possibility of buying a chart of safeguard. The latter provides an identification number which will give access to him its safeguarded data (progression, classification,…) of any machine.
Modes of play
History mode
This mode allows of player alone the countryside of Half Life 2.
The course of the play was however adapted for the terminal of arcade: scenes of introduction or meetings with the characters - keys were changed into short scenes kinematics. The player finds himself thus directly in the scenes of engagements.
Each chapter is divided into 3 to 5 scenes. These last are to be carried out in a limited time, the stop watch being posted in top of the screen. In the first chapters, Tutoriel S are posted with the screen.
Remark : even if the player leaves victorious the chapter, it must pay to play following. If it has the chart, the chapters thus resolved progressively will be safeguarded.
Mode Battles
This mode makes it possible two teams of 4 players to clash on various charts.
The terminals being connected in network by Internet, it is possible to play with people in all Japan.
At the conclusion of the battles, the player receives a certain number of points, which causes to make progress its character in level and in general classification.
Remark : even if the team of the player leaves victorious the combat, it is necessary to pay to play again. If it has the chart, the progression of its character will be safeguarded.
Mission mode
This mode proposes to fill certain objectives alone or in co-operation with other players.
There exist various missions, as for example to fight a certain number of swarmed in the enclosure with the prison.
In this mode of play, the eliminated creatures drops various gems to increase the score and of the packs of care to recover life.
