Haldir is a character of the Seigneur of the Rings of J.R.R. Tolkien.
Haldir was one of the Galadhrim, the inhabitants of the Lothlórien. It was one of rare the Elfe S of this area to speaking the language common to the difference of his two brothers, Rúmil and Orophin. Whereas it supervised the borders of the forest, carpet in the trees with its arc, it surprised the members of the Community of the Ring who moved towards the forest. Haldir was used to them as guide through Lothlórien and carried out them until Caras Galadhon, heart of the kingdom of Celeborn and Galadriel. It was then sent to supervise the borders north of its country on the councils and information given in particular by Aragorn. On its return, he again guided the Community on the river Anduin. It was at this time that it offered to Sam of the made cord hithlain . Leading last once towards its lords, it made them an ultimate good-bye. It remained thus in Lothlórien to protect the forest but one does not know what it occurred of him after the departure of Galadriel at the end of the Guerre of the Ring.
