Hakim Bey

Peter Lamborn Wilson known as Hakim Bey ( meaning “Mr. Turkish Judge” in ), born with New York in 1945, is a writer Politique and Poète qualifying “Anarchiste ontologist”. He is known for his theories about TAZ (in its book Temporary Autonomous Zone, temporary zone of autonomy) and his incentives with poetic terrorism.

It may be that Hakim Bey is a identity shared by several authors with anarchistic tendency, of which Wilson. The objective being to propose their ideas, and not the author.

Wilson would have spent two years in India, with the Pakistan and in Afghanistan, then 7 years in Iran, before being constrained to leave the country with the fall of the Chah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, in 1979. Its texts in any case are impregnated by the Sufism and the Tantrisme, or Voie of the left hand in Buddhist philosophy .

Bey influenced certain authors of Science-fiction Cyberpunk like Bruce Sterling in " Islands one the Net ".

Politically, the theories of the TAZ were propagated in the French universities at the time of the movement of opposition to CPE of 2006. The spontaneous and transitory demonstrations as well as the festive and targeted occupations proved particularly effective so that the movement remains dynamic.
