Hake Dune
Colin Dune is a dancer of Irish Danse born with Birmingham in England in 1969.
Biography
Dune starts to dance with the Marion Turley Academy off Irish Dance with Coventry. In 1978, at the nine years age, it gains the world championship of Irish dance, Al and Al . It will gain nine world titles, eleven of Great Britain, nine Al and eight Al .It begins a career of teaching while it studied the economy with the Université of Warwick; he works at the company Andersen during three years, learning how there to become Expert-comptable. He teaches then the dance during five years with Turley in the school where he learned it, then in Ireland, with the the United States, in New Zealand and Australia. In 1995 it publishes a video of training of Irish dance, Celtic Feet , which leaves to Europe and remains with signal 20 of the video sales of the United Kingdom for ten weeks. It will be also sold in the United States as from 1997.
The same day when he becomes certified public accountant, in September 1993, he leaves his work. Having already danced in the United Kingdom with Chieftains, one asked him to work again with them in a turn of the Canada which will be long one month. In 1995 it meets the Violon ist Frankie Gavin, which invites it to New York in March to dance with the festivities of the Fête of Saint-Patrick to the Marriott Marquis of Broadway.
Dune is introduced with Riverdance by the dancer of Claquettes Tariq Winston, with which it created a dance called Trading Taps for the spectacle. They met with the festival of St Patrick thanks to Gavin. The dance was to be included with the first spectacle, with London, but Michael Flatley share due to problems of artistic control; Dune is selected to replace it in one of the main roles. This joins together it with Jean Butler, with which it had already danced with the Mayo 5000 and at the time of several spectacles of Chieftains.
Dunne in June 1998 leaves Riverdance to establish its own company of dance and production, working with Butler. The following year they coproduisent, chorégraphent and are the stars of their first production, Dancing one Dangerous Ground (based on the Mythe Irish of Diarmuid and Gráinne). The spectacle sees its first with the Royal Theater of London in December 1999 before playing in front of a complete room with the Radio City Music Hall of New York in March 2000.
Dune creates the MY dances of it with the Irish World Music Center Université of Limerick in 1999. Two years later, it accepts the position of dancer-resident at the university, where it finishes also a control in contemporary dance. It starts to concentrate on work in solo, being based on the Irish tradition but on the principles of the contemporary dance. Much the fruit of this work is seen for the first time in 2002 with Edmonton in Canada, as a guest of the Citie Ballet , like with the Vail International Dance Festival with Vail with the Colorado. It choreographer also HeadFoot for the Daghdha Dance Company , started from : 10000 Steps of Yoshiko Chuma, which cloy the International Dublin Dance Festival in May 2002. He collaborates with Chuma since January 2003 and plays in his production Yellow Flower , which will be seen in Ireland in January and February 2003.
He continues since to travel and dance in much country of the world, teaching the Irish dance.
