Haim Saban

Haim Saban (born the October 15th 1944 with Alexandria in Egypt) is a producer of televised programs and a type-setter of music. It has the citizenships American and Israél ienne.

Biography

Jewish parents of modest condition, Haim Saban grows until its twelve years in Egypt, then emigrates with its family in Israel with Tel Aviv. It begins its professional path as organizer from concerts, but stops in 1973 following a commercial failure. He emigrates then in France. He is then his first successes as a producer of discs, in particular of original soundtracks of televised series to success, such as Goldorak, Starsky and Hutch or Dallas. In 1983, it leaves with $500 000 for Los Angeles. It there imports Japanese cartoons, and triumphs in 1989 by adapting the Japanese series over Sentai with the Power Rangers . In 1995, it creates a Joint-venture with Rupert Murdoch to launch the chain for children Fox Kids.

Its political friendships are known and go for the democratic party to the the United States and for the workers party in Israel. However, formerly generous giver of the democratic party in California, it supports today the governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, since his reorientation towards a less liberal governorship.

He intervenes on the German market during the fall of the audio-visual group of Leo Kirch while becoming in 2003 principal shareholder of the consortium supervising Sat.1 and ProSieben. He seeks to resell this participation in the group Axel Springer since August 2005, and would carry out a substantial appreciation then. Rupert Murdoch and also resold to him their shares in Fox Kids with the group Disney in 2001 for 5,3 billion dollars.
