Haillan
Haillan is a common French, located in the department of the the Gironde and the area Aquitaine.
Geography
Located at ten kilometers in the North-West of the downtown area of Bordeaux.
Residential commune of 8200 inhabitants, it is delimited by the towns of Eysines in the west, Mérignac in the south, Saint-Medard-in-Jalles in the east and the Taillan-Medoc in north.

Georges Ricart, socialist mayor of the commune of 1988 to the 2000, born on August 13rd, 1926, was before national trainer of Athlétisme in Ivory Coast of 1955 to 1968. He is deceased on November 3rd, 2006 at the 80 years age.
