Haile Gebrselassie
Haile Gebrselassie - Gebreselassie for the French-speaking people - is a runner Ethiopia basic N, born with Arssi the April 18th 1973. However, the age of Haile Gebreselassie remains dubious, because if one refers to the Ethiopian calendar, based on the Egyptian calendar, it would have been born on April 18th, 1966. This does not minimize its performances, but seems more realistic with its appearance. He is regarded by much as one of the best long-distance runners of all times.
Even if it were not the first to cross 13 minutes the mythical stages for the {{Formatnum: 5000}} meters and 27 minutes for the {{Formatnum: 10000}} meters, it was however the first runner to cross the two stages.
In 1999, it played its own part in the film Endurance , film which tells its search for the Olympic victory over {{Formatnum: 10000}} meters with OJ of Atlanta.
In 2005, it gained the Marathon of Amsterdam, and in 2006 that of Berlin. In 2007, it republishes its performance of 2006 by again gaining the Marathon of Berlin and by establishing new world records of the Marathon in 2:04 ' 26" (either an average pace of 2 ' 57" by kilometer).
