Haddington

Haddington is a town of Scotland of approximately 9000 inhabitants. It is an old city royal of the East Lothian, founded under the reign of David Ier of Scotland (1124-1153) and located at approximately 30 km in the south-east of Edinburgh. It was formerly the fourth most important city of Scotland, after Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh.

It was the place of the creation of the first cabin of the Ordre of the franc-gardeners, towards 1676.

It is twinned with the French city of Aubigny-on-Nère which was the possession of lords Scot (Stuarts of Darnley) during several centuries.
