Habib saint
Saint Habib was born with Such-Sheba, around Édesse, currently Urfa in Turkey. It was Diacre (into 322) and preached in the campaigns when it was stopped for his proselytism. It hid initially, then left its retirement and was presented to the judge. It was condemned to be burned alive.
Deacon and martyr thus the saints martyrs Samonas and Gurias. Stopped during the persecution of Dioclétien, Habib and Samonas knew cruel torments, like that to be hung by only one hand during hours. Then they were locked up three months in the total darkness of a dungeon, finally decapitated. Persecution began again of more beautiful and Gurias was stopped in its turn. As one announced the list of tortures to him which it was to undergo, it retorted: “These torments strengthen my will as the tree which one sprinkles to carry of the fruit. ” He was trailed towards roughing-hew it with a thin strap hung in the mouth, and when fire was put at crépiter, he returned the heart at once. Saint Gurias was buried in the same tomb as holy Habib and holy Samonas.
It is celebrated the March 27th.
