Habib Yammine

Habib Yammine is a Musicien, Compositeur, Musicologue and a Lebanese pedagog.

Author of a university thesis on the music of the Yemeni tribes , it teaches with the Université Paris VIII, the Cité of the Music to Paris and the Maqâm with Lille. Habib Yammine publishes several standard commodities on the Arab Musique. Its studies on the musical treaties of the erudite Musique do of him one of the specialists in the Arab rates/rhythms and an absolute control of the technique of play of the drums like the Riqq, the Daf and the Derbouka.

Percussionniste, and type-setter, it founds with Aïcha Redouane unit Al-Adwâr, composed Egyptian musicians, Lebanese and Morrocans. This unit occurs in many concerts and international festivals.

Habib Yammine transmits his art through the concerts and teaching in various musical institutions.

He takes part in the musical composition of the piece entitled Belicha. Estampie for recorder, old crock Kyrgyz and drum on framework (Pierre Hamon, John Wright, Habib Yammine)/Opus 111 used for the film the pianist of Roman Polanski.

He carries out an international career and is regularly invited by international televisions and radios (France, Canada, Morocco, Germany, Italy…).

Interdependent of the Palestinian cause, it takes part in a compilation of a piece on CD.
