Habère-Pocket

Habère-Pocket is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Savoie and the area the Rhone-Alps. Its inhabitants are the dhabérans.

Habère-Pocket is a Winter sports resort whose skiable field is connected to that of Bellevaux (Hirmentaz). It is also a station of country holidays

Geography

Habère-pocket is located in the area of the Chablais. It is the commune which closes the valley of the Menoge, also called Green Vallée.

The commune is dominated by the Mount Forchat (1540m), the Mountain of Hirmentaz (1606m), the Point of Targaillan (1237 m) and Crêt Vernay (1220 m). Four collars make it possible to join the surrounding valleys: collar of Neck (1116m), collar of Terramont (1100m), collar of Arces (1171m) and collar of the Braces (1150m).

History

With the Middle Ages Habère-Pocket was a possession of the monks of the Abbaye Notre-Dame d' Aulps. Until the end of, Habère-Pocket and Habère-Lullin formed only one and even commune, Habères . With the Canton of Boëge, Habère-Pocket rocked in 1939 of the Arrondissement of Bonneville towards the Arrondissement of Thonon-the-Baths.

Places and monuments

The parish church dates from the XIXe century. A statue of Saint-François-of-Dirty dominates the valley since the Forchat Mount.

The ski station

Alpine skiing

The skiable field is entitled " Habères" , and it has a connection and a common fixed price with 'Bellevaux- Hirmentaz ". The unit adds up 24 ski lifts (5 chair-lifts and 19 skis-lift) and 50 km of tracks (3 black, 6 reds, 8 blue, 6 green).

Ski touring

The field of cross-country skiing is on the plate of the Braces. It partly uses the routes of the Balconies of the Léman.

The tracks break up as follows:

  • green Track: 2 km
  • blue Track 3,5 km
  • red Track: 6 km
  • Skating: 7 km

There exist routes of connection towards Saxel (9km), and the Collar of Fire (Lullin 15 km)

Gliding

The Flying school Sailplanes Léman Mont Blanc (EPPLMB) is the single platform of Gliding of Haute-Savoie, installed with the collar of the Braces in 1995. Opened 7 days a week, the activity functions the every day, generally of mid-March at the end of October, according to the snowing up of the track.

Each year the festival Rock' N Poche proceeds with the foot of one of the chair-lifts of the station.
