Haïm Sturmann ( חייםשטורמן ) is the son of Ménouha and Avraham-Moshé. He is born on January 2nd 1892 with Zaporijjya in Ukraine.
In 1906, it emigrates in Palestine with its family with whom it settles with Jaffa, and studies with the school Hertzliya with Tel-Aviv. With died of his father, it settles with his mother with Yavnéel and units, they hold a restaurant for workmen.
At the 18 years age, Haïm Sturmann enters the rows of the organization Hashomer to Hadera.
After a violent dispute with Arab shepherds, Sturmann is imprisoned in the prison of Akko, from where it will maintain a correspondence in which it will express its passion for nature and humanity as a whole. At its coming out of prison, it reinstates Hashomer in Such-Adashim, Rehovot and Kinéret. Of 1916 with 1917, Sturmann works with the acquisition of weapons for the defense of the town of Rehovot and Such Hai. September 21st 1921, it hopes among the first to come to settle with the Kibboutz Eïn-Harod. He then manages to weave respect and friendly relations with the Arab neighbors of the place.
Shaoul Avigour writes about it: " Haïm was the pure heir to the tradition of the members of Hashomer ". As for Yossef Fein: " When I remember Haïm, it comes me to mind the image from a perfect being in its way of thinking, its healthy logic and its reserve. It could conquer its world… ".
Haïm Sturmann takes an active part in the program of Tour and Muraille in the valley of Beït-Shéan and the mounts of Yissahar.
September 14th 1938, on the road of Beït-Shéan to Tirat-Zvi, during the prospection for a new establishment, it jumps on a mine and dies with two of his/her friends. Haïm Sturmann is buried in Eïn-Harod and leaves behind him his wife and three children. His/her Moshé son falls during the Guerre from Independence in the valley from Beït-Shéan, his Haïm grandson in 1969 on the Egyptian face and his Amir grandson along the Suez Canal in 1970.
Its memory is recalled by the creation of Beït-Sturmann , museum and institute of natural science.
