Haïm Margaliot-Kalvarisky

Haïm Margaliot-Kalvarisky ( חייםמרגליות - קלווריסקי ) is a personality of the Sionisme.

It is born in Poland in 1868. Young person, it adheres to the movement Amants of Sion and to the order of the Bneï-Moshé. Margaliot-Kalvarsky continues studies of agronomy in France, and emigrates in Palestine in 1895 with the wave of the first Aliyah. There, he studies at the school of Mikvé-Israel, then in 1898 settles with Mishmar-Hayarden. It directs then the farm of Sédjéra on behalf of YIKA, where it will allow the integration of 10 families originating in Russia.

Haïm Margaliot-Kalvarsky becomes director of YIKA, person in charge for the area of the Basse Galileo, and it contributes thus to the creation and the installation of the villages of Yavnéel, Ménahamia and Kfar Tabor. Then it is transferred to Rosh Pina and deals in parallel with land acquisition. It then develops friendly relations as well as rules of cohabitation with the Arab neighbors.

During the First World War, it will contribute to the development of the establishments in the " Doigt" of Galileo, such as the Kibbutz im Ayelet-Hashahar, Mahanaïm and Kfar-Guiladi, of the village Hamra and the agricultural farm of Such Hai. It is Israel Guiladi which will continue the work of Margaliot-Karlvalsky in its engagement for the establishment in the area.

It takes an active share within the political organization preaching the bringing together judéo-Arabic, Brit Shalom.

Haïm Margaliot-Kalvarisky dies in 1947.
