Etymology
History of the city
The city of Bonneville becomes the capital of the province of Faucigny, in 1310, replacing the city of Cluses. This political change and strategic will involve a conflict between the two cities, in particular with an attack of Cluses in 1355.Under the French revolution, the commune was called Mount-Molez or Mount-Mole . The August 6th 1961, the commune of Pontchy is attached there, then the commune of The-Coast-in Hyot amalgamates with Bonneville the December 16th 1964.
