The stucco is a mixture of lime and Plâtre. The loads can be the sand or the powder of Marbre. One finds there also adhesives animal or vegetable, possibly armed with hair or lattice.

This material is used in Décoration and Sculpture. Lighter than the massive marble, it is also less expensive and easier to work.

The first stucco with being used as of antiquity is the stucco (with) lime. There will be the stuccos with the plaster thereafter. One distinguishes the Roman stucco-marble, stucco-stone, , Marmorino or with the knife. In Europe, the stucco will be really re-used only as from the 16th century. It will be imported into France by François Ier. In certain churches in Italy as with Bergamo, with the decorations in stucco cover all the walls of the ground to the ceiling in alternation with the Bois eries.
