HK Sokol Kiev
The HK Sokol Kiev , or HK Sokil Kiev , is a club of Hockey of Kiev in Ukraine. It evolves/moves in the Championnat of Ukraine of hockey and in the championship of Russia of the second division. Sokol (in Russian Сокол ), or Sokil (in Ukrainian Сокіл ), means “Faucon”.
History
The club is created in 1963 under the name of Dynamo Kiev .In 1965, it reaches the first division of the championship of Soviet Union, but is relegated five years later. In 1973, the club is famous Sokol and, in 1978, reaches the first division again, where he plays until 1996 (the championship having meanwhile become the championship of Russia). In 1985, Sokol finishes third of the championship of the USSR, its best classification. The club is famous Sokol-Eskulap in 1992, then Sokol in 1993 and HK Sokol Kiev in 2003.
Between 2004 and 2007, Sokol evolved/moved in the championship of Bielorussia, after having taken part between 1995 and 2004 in the Ligue of Eastern Europe of hockey.
