HK G41

The Fusil of attack HK G41 ( Gewehr 41 = Rifle model 41, name also employed for a lawful semi-automatic rifle by the Wehrmacht) was conceived with the beginning of the year 1980.

Presentation

G41 derives from the HK 33 of which it constitutes a version with lengthened gun. Following the standardization of the charger of the M16 within NATO, HK had equipped this rifle with a corridor of food and chargers (20/30 blows) with M16A1 . The last modification comes from the new profile wrapping of the hand-shield.

Diffusion

Its business success was limited since this F was mainly sold with the Italy and to the Portugal. Even in these countries it is employed little since the Italian Army preferred Beretta AR-70/90 to him and that the majority of the Portuguese troops uses the Galil. Vis-a-vis this report, the HK G41 was replaced in the middle of the Années 1990 by the HK G36, which equips since the Bundeswehr.

Versions

In addition to the HK G41 with fixed stick (G41A1) and retractable (G41A2), the firm Heckler&Koch proposed:
  • HK G41K with shortened gun and retractable stick,
  • HK G41TGS equipped with a lance-grenade HK 79 of 40 mm fixed under the hand-shield.
