HERE

Here are is a Portail Web multi-service launched in July 1998 by France Telecom. It is founded on a French-speaking Search engine on Internet. Since February 2007, Here became a gate personnalisable with the arrival of the Web 2.0: Flow RSS, Drag and drop, Navigation by miter.

Among the nombeux services which he proposes, one finds:

  • a network IRC;

  • a Webmail;
  • a lodging of personal pages;
  • an integrated multimedia player: vidéos perso (of YouTube type), videos clip, trailers;
  • of the contents: actu, sport, guide TV, weather…
  • a search for Web sites on the French-speaking Web, the world Web and the Guide Web (old directory);
  • a block dedicated to personalized management;
  • a service of online storage with Twinned. (storage and file-sharing, photographs, vidéos with 1Go of free space.)
  • a homepage in accessible version.

Chronology

  • Created in 1996, the Echo company creates one of the first French-speaking search engines.

Echo is rested by Christophe Dupont in September 1996. In April 1997, Michel Bisac and Christophe Ruelle integrate the company. CA 1997:152 000 € (1 MF)
  • January 1998: 30 million referred sites.
  • July 1998: The Echo engine becomes Here is, second search engine more attended in France behind Yahoo!; France Telecom holds from now on 34  % of the capital.
CA 1998:1,52 M€ (10 MF).
  • 1999 : 120 million international sites is referred, of which 6 million is French.
Wanadoo uses the engine Here.
  • 2004 : Here a new Logo adopts.
  • 2007 : 500 million French-speaking sites. The reception of Here is passes in Web 2.0.
  • June 2007: A Anti-Spam is added to Webmail.
  • August 2007: Twinned, a new service of free online storage is added to the services that voilà.fr proposes.
  • October 2007: Homepage Here is in Accessible version.
