HDCAM
The HDCam is a video Format professional creates by Sony in 1997. It is about a format Numérique High-definition in 16/9 native.
History
After many tests, tests, consortia without result of a uniformly ratified standard, Sony decides to leave and impose the HDCam format in 1997. Its major asset resides in the design of a Caméscope thus giving portability to the High-definition: hitherto, the signal was to be recorded on one or more separate video tape recorders of the camera. For example, the Japanese chain NHK, pionnière of the High-definition, was to use in France for its local office, two video tape recorders D1 in parallel; the first recorded the screen top, the second, that of bottom!
It in the beginning was developed for the turning of Star Wars: episode II - The Attack of the clones at the request of George Lucas then used for the film turning such as Vidocq .
His/her big brother, more and more used with the cinema is the HDCam SR, thus leaving his junior to the video.
