Biography
Hécatée de Cardia was the tyrant of the city of Cardia in Chersonèse of Thrace to the IVe front century J. - C. during the conquests of Alexandre Large the.
He is placed at the head of Cardia in 342 by Philippe II which has just rejoined the city with its cause following the countryside of the Athenian general Diopeithès. Hécatée is the hereditary enemy of the family of Eumène de Cardia, explaining why the future chancellor of Alexandre passes his youth in Macedonia. To died from Alexandre in 323, Chersonèse fall to the hand from Lysimaque which makes destroy the city of Cardia in 309 to leave room to Lysimacheia. The last developments of the career of Hécatée are not known.
