Härjedalen

The Härjedalen , ( Latin Herdalia in and Herdalie Francized), is one of the 25 historical provinces of Sweden. It is also the name of a common (whose borders do not correspond however entirely to those the province). Härjedalen forms, with the province of Jämtland in north, the Comté of Jämtland. Härjedalen is smallest of the provinces of Sweden in population.
History
Old Norwegian province, Härjedalen was yielded to Sweden by the Traité of Brömsebro in 1645 with the provinces of Jämtland, Gotland and Halland.
Nature
Crossed by the the Scandinavian Alps (Stress), the four fifths of the province are at more 500 meters of altitude. The culminating point, the Helagsfjället goes up until 1 796 Mr.
