Gzhatsk
Gzhatsk (Гага́рин) is a Russian city of the Oblast de Smolensk, on the river banks of the same name to 240 km in the North-East of Smolensk.
With the census of 2002, its population was of 28.789 habitants.

History
Founded in 1719, the village acquires the statute of city in 1776.In 1968, the city is renamed " Gagarin" , in the honor of Youri Gagarine, first cosmonaut, born in the village close to Klushino in 1934.
