General presentation
The " Gypsy Festival" Swing; in 1992 was created. It became with the wire of time, the " International festival of the Gypsy musics " , a musical reference in France as in Europe. At the time of this festival, the public can discover there the best formations roms, Tziganes and manouches.the " International festival of the Tsiganes" Musics; is held on the communes of Angers (Theater of the Ney place), of Beaucouzé, Écouflant, Feneu and Saint-Barthelemy-in Anjou during May. During ten days, the public can go to the meeting and discovered of the musical cultures Tziganes.
Organized by Angers the Loire Metropolis and association Gipsy Swing, this festival of gypsy musics is one of most important in Europe in the kind and proposes spectacles in rooms, concerts of sport in free access as well as many musical animations in café concert.
Regularly turned towards the jazz " manouche" , its programming also turns to the flamenco and the musics of Eastern Europe. The festival accommodates various styles of gypsy music or " Gipsy" , with formations come from abroad, in particular of Austria and Hungary.
This festival falls under an action of assistance and mutual aid with the travelling entertainers (followed school, parking…).
