Gymnastic and sporting Federation of patronages of France
The gymnastic and sporting Fédération of patronages of France was a founded general sports French federation sporting in 1898 with Paris by the doctor Paul Michaux. In 1946, this federation is renamed sporting Fédération of France then sporting and cultural Fédération of France in 1969.
Large rival of the layman USFSA, it was however in phase with it relating to the judgment of sporting professionalism. Having chosen the Football for sport of reference, the FGSPF manages as of 1908 to impose the French Comité interfédéral, which it had created in 1907, like only federation recognized by FIFA.
The FGSPF counts 13 affiliated clubs at the end of 1898 and 1504 in 1914. The foundation of the sporting federations specialized after the First World War carried a severe blow to the FGSPF, but the latter been able to continue its activities contrary to the USFSA.
