Gymnasium Jean Sturm

The Gymnase Jean Sturm is a private school Protesting located in the center town of Strasbourg. Inaugurated the March 22nd 1538, it wants to be humanistic tradition .

It officially amalgamates with the establishment Lucie Berger the September 5th 2005 under the name of educational Pôle Jan Amos Comenius and accommodates from now on the classes of 4th until the final one (dies S, ES and L).

History

  • March 22nd 1538: Inauguration of the news High School, created by Jean Sturm at the request of Jacques Sturm.
  • 1538 with 1621: Old of gold of the establishment.
  • 1566 : The emperor Maximilien II allows the Gymnasium to decree diplomas of graduate and license by setting it up with the row of academy.
  • 1621 : The Gymnasium can name doctors thanks to promotion with the dignity of university on behalf of the Emperor Ferdinand II.
  • 1621 with 1789: Opening of the High School to more a social large range thanks to the installation of purses.
  • 1860 : A fire devastates the establishment and destroys the old buildings.
  • 1863 : Rebuilding of the Gymnasium.
  • 1919 : The Gymnasium exerts a teaching compared to that of a college and a college.
  • September 5th 2005: Fusion with the school Lucie Shepherd in order to form the educational Pole Jan Amos Comenius.
