Gyaru-moji

The Gyaru - moji ( ギャル文字 , “alphabet of the Kogal ”) is a method of writing of popular Japanese among young Japanese women. Like language SMS, the gyaru-moji is used to send messages via the cellphones. But contrary to the language SMS which shortened the messages, the gyaru-moji requires an effort of reading and additional writing. He was invented by young girls who when they take the crammed trains of big cities as did not want that people can read their messages easily. To write in gyaru-moji because of required effort to do it is regarded as a mark of friendship.

Like the Leet speak , the gyaru-moji consists in replacing characters by others which are close visually. The Hiragana can thus be replaced by Greek or Latin letters. The syllable hiragana す ( known ) can become thus §. A character can also be as in the leet replaced by a series of others: ほ ( Ho ) becomes |ま (combination of the vertical bar and the syllable hiragana ま ( my ).

The Kanji undergo sometimes the decomposition of the elements which compose them. 好 in 好き (merry) becomes 女子 (which is the respective kanji of woman and child)
