Gwen, the book of sand is the first feature-length film of Jean-François Laguionie. This Cartoon one duration of 1h07, painted with the Gouache, was carried out in 1984 with the Factory.

He tells the history of an young girl, Gwen, adopted by a tribe of wandering, in an post-apocalyptic world invaded by sand. In this Deserted, where remain only of rare animals, a Autruche, a Gerboise or a scorpion, an unknown entity pours sometimes floods of objects, gigantic reproductions of products banals of our world (bags, telephones, clock…). When the young boy is removed by the entity, Gwen leaves with Roseline, a grandmother, with her research. It will meet the other human ones living in the remainders of an extinct civilization.
