Culture

The culture of these plants requires a Serre hot and wet with a filtering of the solar light and a temperature always maintained with the top of 18 °C.

One cultivates them out of pot or container of glass, with Arrosage S regular, abundant in summer and more reduced in winter; it is advisable to fill, once a month, the central cut formed by the sheets with fresh and noncalcareous water, and in hot season to frequently vaporize the sheets.

For the vegetative period, the Fertilization is done using liquid manure once a month; the roots are reduced and do not impose repotting.

The multiplication is made in spring, by detaching from the plant mother the eyes appeared at the base once they were enracinés, and by transplanting them in pots filled with Terreau for broméliacées, or of the universal compost, added with Tourbe and Sable.

Enemies

  • the excess of water causes the rotting of the roots, while the sheets brown and are softened.
